Ballet Etudes’ studio is located at Jeanne’s School of Dance in Mesa, Arizona.  It is the purpose of Ballet Etudes to provide each student a firm foundation in ballet technique through a system of graded classes.  It is the intent of Ballet Etudes’ curriculum to produce a dancer artistically prepared to meet the challenges of, and succeed in, any professional company.  To further achieve this, each student is treated as an individual who is nurtured and encouraged to grow and his or her own pace.

The ballet courses offered at Jeanne’s provide a comprehensive dance education with the main focus on the student’s ballet training.  Classes are structured:  pre-ballet, beginning, grades 1, 2, 3, 4,  advanced and adult for ballet technique with pointe technique classes given for level four and advanced.  Additional enrichment classes are available in pilates and modern.  Periodic master classes are held to enhance regular classes.  Past guest instructors have included Jeremy Blanton (Joffrey), Francia Russell (Pacific Northwest Ballet), Sherry Zunker (River North Chicago), Christiana Fungarino (Ballet Nacional de Caracas), Pamela Robinson (Ballet West), and Raymond van Mason (Ballet West).  Dane LaFontsee, former director the Milwaukee Ballet, and Leslie Browne of American Ballet Theatre choreographed original works for Ballet Etudes’ dancers.

In addition to its regular school year, Jeanne’s offers a special summer intensive program.  The classes offered include ballet technique and pointe, variations and repertoire, character, modern, jazz, strength and conditioning, and flamenco.  Each year, guest instructors are invited to participate.  In previous summer, these instructors have included Ballet West soloists Pamela Robinson, Jane Wood, and Raymond vanMason.  Flamenco has been taught by Lydia Torea and Martin Gaxiola.
